2.Go to the layers window and create a new layer. Fill this layer (layer 1) by black colour (mode:normal).
Write some text (white colour) in a new layer (when you write some text that new layer is automatically created).
Transform the text (LAYER/TRANSFORM) so that the letter fit well over the image (To see how the text looks over the image deselect button in the layer window for the black layer (layer 1)) and then apply the transformation by
clicking on the marquee tool.Select the layer (CTRL+click) on which the text is written and merge down layer 1 (black color) and layer 2(text)
IMPORTANT Selecting the layer (CTRL+click) on which the text is written is a must before you merge down the layers. |

5. You can stop here only and select none (CTRL+D) and end here or if you want a more clear idea of what you want to write (here: MEG) then add a border. Here is how you do it. With the selection still there expand it (SELECT/MODIFY/EXPAND) by 1 pixel. Then choose the fill tool and fill it with white. IMPORTANT Fill the region where the selection is grown not the place where you can see the part of the layer below otherwise the layer below will get filled by the white color. |
