Glowing Bodies

This is how I made my logos GLOW in the logos section.

1.First open an RGB mode image with a black background. Go to the channels toolbar and make a new channel. On this channel put your text or a logo. It will be in black and white.
2.Go to your layers window and create a new layer. Load this selection/channel (CTRL+ALT+4). Now FEATHER this selection (Select>Feather or CTRL+ALT+D) by some amount. The feather amount depends upon your image size.
Fill this selection with a RED colour. To change the colour double click on the icon and use the color picker to select the colour.
3.Now again make a new layer and load the same selection (CTRL+ALT+4). Feather this selection also but use a lower value than the one used in step 2.
Fill this selection with a yellow colour. Your image should look like this now.
4. Make a new layer and load the same selection again. Feather this selection again but use a value that is lesser than the value used in step 3.
Fill this selection with white colour. This is how your image must look.
5.Make a new layer and load the same selection yet again (this is the reason why we loovveee channels sooo much!!). Fill this selection with black colour (no feathering). This is how your image must look.
You can stick to this one and be happy or go on and do some "kidas" (in Indian slang that means fool around!!).
6. The layer you made in step 5 is used to change the look of the image. This is done by simply changing the mode of the layer. This one is created by making the mode to OVERLAY. You can use various other combinations to get other effects.
