f1.gif Start with an RGB image with a black background and add white text on a new layer. Rename this new text layer as "firetext". Load the text layer (ctrl+click on the layer). Select the background layer and invert it. Deselect the selection (ctrl+d) (ctrl+i)
f2.gif With the background layer still active rotate the canvas 90 degrees CW. Apply the WIND filter with these specs.
Method:-blast
Direction :-right

apply the RIPPLE filter with the following specs.
Ripple Size:- 9
Ripple Magnitude:-9.
apply the WIND filter again with the same specs. Rotate the canvas 90 degrees CCW.
f3.gif Apply the GLASS filter with the following specs.
Distortion:-1
smoothness :-3
Texture type:-frosted
Scaling:-100
Without Invert Texture
Apply a Gaussian blur of 1.5.
Go to Image>Color Balance (ctrl+b) and use the following specs.
Shadow Levels:-10,15,-11
Midtone levels:- 100,0,-100
Highlight Levels:-44,-21,-46
With preserve Luminosity
f4.gif Select the firetext layer and render the layer (Layer>Type>Render). Apply a Gaussian Blur of 0.6. Reset the colours to black and white. Use the PLASTER filter with the following specs.
Image Balance: 20
Smoothness: 2
Light Position: bottom
Go to Image>Color Balance (ctrl+b) and use the following specs.
Shadow Levels:-20,21,-24
Midtone levels:- 75,0,-61
Highlight Levels:13,0,-68
With preserve Luminosity
