IMPORTANT Make sure the "Preserve Transparency" option of the text layer is checked
Fiddle around with it to get various other forms also

1.First open an RGB mode image with any background colour. I used black here
Write some text in a new layer.

2.Go to the channels window and drag any of the channels to the "create new button"
and create a new channel #4 and then goto FILTER/OTHER and choose the special filter
called TORN EDGES and apply it as shown to the channel #4. Fiddle around with it to get various other forms also |

3. Go Back to the LAYERS window and merge down the layers (Ctrl+E). Select the only layer now and from the FILTER/RENDER choose "Lighting
effects" and use the special settings as shown in the image. Save it for future referance as
3d Fool around again to get other effects.Press OK after you get the desired effect. |

Go to FILE/EXPORT and export it as a GIF89a image and voila you have your metallic dusted image! IMPORTANTThis tip looks good on small images like these or slightly bigger only! |
