METALLIC CHROME

1.First open an RGB mode image with white background colour. Type some text in black in a new layer
   (layer 1).

2. Duplicate this layer. Layer>Duplicate Layer (Layer 1 copy).
3. Now invert the image. Go to Image>Adjust>Invert (Ctrl+I)
4. Make a copy of this layer too (duplicate) i.e. Layer>Duplicate layer (Layer 1 copy 2).

5. Change this layer to "Difference"

6. Preserve Transparency "On" (checked)

7. Fill with black to white gradient (linear).
-fill from top of text to bottom-
8. Select 'Layer 1 copy 2'

9. Duplicate this layer i.e. Layer 1 copy 3.

10. Duplicte 'Layer 1 copy 3' as 'Layer 1 copy 4'.

11. Duplicte 'Layer 1 copy 4' as 'Layer 1 copy 5'.

12. Select 'Layer 1 copy 4'.

13. Go to Image>Adjust>Brightness/contrast and use the following specs on the layer.
  • Brightness: -40
  • Contrast: 10
14. Select 'Layer 1 copy'. Use the offset filter with the followin specs.
  • Horizontal :2
  • Vertical : 2
  • Fill : repeat
15. Link - ALL- layers except backround and Layer 1 copy.

16. Merge the linked layers (Ctrl + E).

17. Duplicate 'Layer 1 copy' to 'Layer 1 copy 2'.

18. Select 'Layer 1 copy'. Fill i.e. Edit>Fill using the following specs.
  • Using :Foreground colour
  • Opacity :70%
  • Mode : Normal
  • With preserve transparency
19. Apply Gaussian Blur with a radius of 1.3

20. Select 'Layer 1 copy 2'.

21. Go to Image>Adjust>Brightness/contrast and use the following specs on the layer.
  • Brightness : 32
  • Contrast : 27
22. Use the lens flare filter with the following specs.
  • Brightness: 64
  • Flare center: point
  • Horizontal: 0.19
  • Vertical: 0.303
  • Lens: 50-300mm zoom
23. Use the lens flare filter with the following specs.
  • Brightness: 64
  • Flare center: point
  • Horizontal: 0.625
  • Vertical: 0.47
  • Lens: 50-300mm zoom
24. Use the lens flare filter with the following specs.
  • Brightness: 47
  • Flare center: point
  • Horizontal: 0.851
  • Vertical: 0.697
  • Lens: 50-300mm zoom
